Like a patient etherized upon a table...

The rain here has been just awful, so no picture of N. Rip Van Winkle  :P  I hope this rain doesn't pound my new flowers into the ground!!

I've been spending the bad weather down-time indoors reading!  I rediscovered a few poems that I have ALWAYS loved- specifically William Blake's "The Sick Rose" and T.S. Eliot's "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock."  I haven't studied these poems since my first year of college- it certainly brought back memories :)

I also discovered a few words/phrases that I think are keen: "jiggery-pokery," "baliwick," and "rapacity" (what a great word!).

Also got a little work done on the quilt!  Yes, yes- I am still plugging away!

OH!  I also went to a BBQ and found a great recipe!  It was the hit of the night! :D

3 packages of crescent rolls
16 oz cream cheese
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 stick butter
cinnamon
sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

Line a 9x13 pan with crescent rolls (this should use up about 1-1 1/2 of the packages)- make sure you have no holes!  Mix the cream cheese, sugar and vanilla together and spread it on the rolls. Unroll the remaining crescent rolls to form the top layer (this won't use up all 3 tubes of crescent rolls, part of the 3rd tube can be used for something else!).  Melt the butter and pour it over the danish.  Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.  Bake for 30 minutes (aprox).  Enjoy!
