I never thought I'd say this, but I think Dory (the fish from Finding Nemo) is right. The trick to swimming is really just to keep swimming. Think of nothing else but, (insert song) just keep swimming.
I had the a couple of hours to kill in the evening before meeting Sherman for a late dinner, so I decided to drop by the pool. It's been ages since I last swam, or actually had any form of exercise. So it was truly pathetic that my legs felt like lead after a lap or two. I was swimming side by side with another lady, and I thought I could just follow her pace. But each time I reached the other end, I noticed she's already in the middle, heading back. Surely I'm not that slow, am I? It was only after a few more laps that I realised it's because the lady only swim half the length. Gah.
Nevertheless, it was a really good workout. I just kept swimming, with my eyes closed, thinking of nothing at all. Nevermind that I was swimming all over the shop, all the strokes that Jackie taught me was thrown out the window because my arms and legs just couldn't master the strength to kick and pull hard enough. I enjoyed it, that's what matters most, right?
All the workout went down the drain though cos' Sherman and I had a really late steamboat buffet dinner at Novena Village. All the prawns and crabs and tomyum soup. Yummers.
Sentosa with Jackie tomorrow, rain or shine. Can't wait! :)
