So, yesterday was much less strange than today was, biologically. We managed to get out of the hotel for a walk yesterday, where we were hustled enthusiastically. "Oh, this place is closed because of India day, you must go here." "Oh, I can get you a rickshaw to the market, only 50 rupees" which, actually, not that bad a deal. "Oh, because of India day, (insert dodge, or hustle, here)."
We didn't get too far, but we got the ground under our feet, so that was good. We saw a McDonalds, and although we'd never darken their doorway back home, we're curious about their menu here. Maybe enough to go there for food.
Today, we were planning to go to the India day parade. Cynra, however, couldn't get to sleep overnight, so we were not able to make it out in the morning. We did watch it on tv in the lobby, and see some jets doing a flyby.
We went back to the room, where we slept for several hours (what with the jet lag).
Eventually, we got up and had dinner with Aman from Hobbystar, since we were both in Dehli at the same time.
Tomorrow is in flux; we either go to a half day tour of Old Dehli and shop in the morning, or do a full day tour of the city.
It's a Gazebo!
Monkeys! We're officially in India!
A still picture cannot contain the madness that is a roundabout.
The reception desk at the Meridian. Is that art, or just decor?
