Almost didn't even go to the show, but my dad was able to give me a ride home after all. Too bad none of my friends came, though. Fortunately I met this girl Sarah and hung out with her, she was there alone too, so last night didn't totally suck.
The opening band, Fruitless Attempt at Glory, never showed up at all. Fock em.
The River Bottom ended up going first. It was actually the best I've seen them yet, and that dates back to when they were The Primary. I was surprised to see that they brought a good amount of kids. Actually, the turnout overall was very impressive, especially for me not having brought anyone, despite ruthless promotion.
The Drop Antenna played next. I don't know what I think of them. The bassist was probably the best bassist I've ever heard outside of like national acts. The guitarist was also really good, and the way they played together was crazy. But I'm not sure, I just couldn't really get into their music. They went from funky, Red Hot Chili Peppers-type shit to sounding vaguely like Coheed & Cambria (for lack of better comparison).
Oest closed, and they played pretty well. They played the 3 songs I know, and the other 2 or 3 sounded pretty similar, but I could tell they were tight, well-rehearsed. I meant to ask the guitarist how much he got his Vox 4x12 for, but I didn't get a chance to. I want one of those so bad. Oh right, Oest, they were good. Yeah.
Had to leave, walked over to Dunkin Donuts with Sarah then I got picked up. Strangely enough, my dad was waiting for me.
