Packing has begun in earnest for the weeklong cruse to Central America and Mexico. It will be my first time (in recollection) leaving the States, and I look forward to the diversion. We’ll be leaving on the seventh day of the week (viz. tomorrow), God willing. There should be a few picturesque photos of the trip to bring back for all you picture addicts.
What do ya do when it’s unwise to keep your wisdom? -Wisdom teeth, that is. One of them is trying to pop up, but it’s a little unruly and is causing some pain and will need to be pulled-so I presume.
Just so you know, there’s a gas station near here that has regular unleaded gas for $2.19/gal. Not bad, huh? One of the cashiers in that gas station, in her southern-y way, humorously says stuff like, “Is that all, hon’?” (It reminds me of that time we went camping in the Ocala National Forest and ate breakfast at the Golden Skillet. Aside: I ordered coleslaw for breakfast. ... What’s the matter? It tastes the same any time of day! Anyway, the waitress there would say things like that, too, I believe.)
This John Piper book entitled Don’t Waste Your Life is excellent. I highly recommend it-at least the first 3/4 that I’ve read so far. :D It’s highly inspirational and edifying.
While I was checking out my friends’ photo blogs, I noticed that two of them had a group picture with me in it. Yup, I’m the anomalous one with bright red hair ... suspenders ... a beard ... and a blue shirt but no jacket. How was I supposed to know that we’d have a group picture and everyone would be wearing jackets and ties? :P
The picture was taken during my recent trip to Texas.
Details of the trip are here, in case anyone missed it.
