→ You were beyond wise to avoid the Internet re: Harry Potter. So glad you enjoyed the story arc! Ali, K, and I caught DH2 Sunday night, and we all really liked it.
Now, that said, I'll be v. interested to know what you think of the books! Um, mostly for inherently selfish reasons, as I have a much bigger attachment to the books versus the films.
→ I hear you on Blue Blood -- so freakin' good, but man, oh, man, it is taking me forever to work through it. I'm savoring every damn page, though. Oh, Conlon, why are you so awesome? (After you finish it, Red on Red must go on your to-read list, too -- he wrote fiction! And it's phenom!)
→ Dude, next time you get yourself over here, you and BFF Mel must meet -- you guys can get your racing geek on like whoa. *laughing* I recommend October, as Keeneland's fall meet'll be hopping! :DDD?
→ Congrats to A for landing the teaching job, but gah, I'm so sorry that your mom's move complicates holiday logistics -- and, heck, even a simple visit -- like this. I swear, it's

Ahaha, yeah, I figured this place was gonna BLOW UP right after the midnight screenings and on through the weekend. I am very much looking forward to the books.
Generally this is the order I do these types of things in. Movies first and then the books. Partly because I have a hard time going out there and finding new books on my own, and sometimes I don't even know a movie was a book, and the rest is just 'cause that's how I roll.
People like to bitch about how a movie didn't do a good job of covering the book, but this way I can watch a movie, and then in reading get an expanded take on the story and a whole lot more from the experience. A book is like an extended edition with all the deleted scenes and director's cuts right there for me to gobble up.
And speaking of reading, man oh man, yes. Blue Blood is superb, and I must gleeful at you yet again for sending it my way. I am totally going to snatch up Red on Red once I get through some things, because Conlon owns my soul right now with his writing

Oh, I totally don't mean to be one of ~*~those~*~ folks, bitching about how the movies haven't done the books justice. They totally have, and how; talk about a monster of an adaptation to tackle! My hats are off to everyone who had a hand in bringing Rowling's world to life onscreen. It's just that I picked up the books before I saw any of the films, so that's where my true allegiance lies. ;D
Also, I just watched the piñata commercial for the Tiguan, and I am cracking up. I hadn't seen it!
YESSS, come back, come back, come back! There will be more ridic food + horses! We will totes have to drive out to Wallace Station on Old Frankfort Pike; it's just in Versailles, about a half-hour away. And such a gorgeous drive. They have the epic sammiches as big as both our heads combined, and oh my goodness. SO TASTY. (They were also featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives not too long ago, aw yeah.)
Dude, you're not whining at all; the whole situation sucks, A's new job aside. Also, your worries are completely founded!
