You know, when they say it's a real estate, is it really an estate, or a state of realness?

Isis is going about getting ready for the trip. The first order of business was a shower, then tying off her hair and putting it up after it's sufficiently dry. Then she gets dressed, a nice blouse and a nice pair of slacks for the day (Thank you Eiko, for Earth clothes, while Isis has dressier casual Skyderain stuff, it proooooobably would've ( Read more... )

Eiko turns around, dressed in the skirt-suit that she wore for her interview at the school. "Lovely as always. And fairly Earth-normal. Alas." She leans and gives Isis a kiss.

"Shall we head over? I need to drive us over there, so we'll take the Caddy."

The kiss returned, and some of the fears of Standing Out Too Much quashed. "If you're ready, love, I am too." Isis smiles, and starts leading the way to the garage.

And to the garage they go. Eiko takes the driver side (mostly because she's the better driver), and they pull out through the portal...

...and out of a parking garage in the middle of a fairly busy city. She pulls into traffic, driving through. The city streets are narrow and one-way for a while, until she pulls onto a multi-lane highway. The radio plays cheerful music as she passes from city to suburb, pulling off onto streets that get progressively quieter.

Finally, they pull up in front of a fairly large house house, paneled in what appears to be white wood. Parked in the driveway is a small grey car, and a cheery, plump, grey-haired woman is waiting. As Eiko gets out, the woman walks forward.

"Miss Takashima? I'm Gloria Roberts, we've spoken on the phone." She extends a hand. "I really hope this works out for you."

"Thank you for all your work, Gloria. This is my partner, Isis. We're very excited to have a chance to see this house."

Isis gets out when Eiko does, blinking, and having to push her glasses back up the bridge of her nose. She's trying not to be a little self-conscious about the wig, because if she gets self conscious, it becomes obvious.

Isis gets out too, "Hello Miss Roberts, I'm pleased to meet you." And a handshake will happen after Eiko's. Isis's ring probably glints a little in the sunlight, too.

...This is winter for this world? That's.. ..Well. Compared to what Isis is used to, this isn't a problem at all.

It's a fairly mild winter day, but there's a bit of a bite in the air coming - Isis might be able to feel it coming.

"Let's have a look." They enter the house, and into the foyer and living room. The house looked large on the outside, but seems nearly cavernous on the inside. It's empty; there's no furniture.

They're lead through the place - there's four bedrooms, two with their own bathrooms (the master bedroom having a huge one) and one bathroom on the ground floor. The kitchen is huge, as well, with an island in the center for work. The bay window from the back of the kitchen overlooks a deck on the edge of a (covered) pool, and about an acre of lawn.

"Pretty nice," Eiko says. "Is the basement finished?"

"Of course," Gloria says, and leads them down. It's mostly finished, but the floor is concrete.

With the flash stifled, Eiko sends to Isis, [This would be a good lab for you. We can put a portal in, too.]

"What do you think, honey?"

Isis probably can, but she's making no comment for now, either way.

Wow, without furniture, it feels huge, but huge is good. "I like."

A message returned, [Yeah, I can set up a magic portal, or a techological one, though a tech one would be easier to shut down if anything would happen... We can set it up later], Isis, too, makes sure to keep the flashing hidden.

"I like how we've got so much space. Definitely a good thing." Isis is liking! And it's obvious!

Eiko nods.

"I think we have a good possibility here. How much are they asking?"

Gloria frowns slightly. "One point two million."

Eiko glances at Isis. "I think we can swing that. What do you think? Should we make the offer?"

Isis is still looking about and kinda gets a bit wide eyed at the price. Never in her life did she dream of spending that much on anything.

"I like the location, are the neighbors nice, and fairly open-minded about things?" Because, well, there might be days that someone forgets her black wig, among other things. "I also remember Eiko mentioning the grocery store was about fifteen to twenty minutes away?" She's double checking and stuff, because while she can drive, doesn't mean she HAS to all the time.

To say nothing of two lesbians moving in from a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DIMENSION. Thank yew established identities.

"Well, the district votes Democrat," Gloria says. "There's some fairly religious people here, but they're quiet, they don't protest too much." She smiles. "And yes, just a bit away, supermarket, drugstore. There's a mall half an hour away for the rest of things."

Eiko nods, glancing at Isis for her opinion.

Isis keeps the PINpoint's flashing dimmed. [Democrat?]

"I see." A nod, thoughtful. "I think we've found our place, eh, ajin?" Isis very very nearly said vendya. "I like the location, everything's in close order." Though Isis isn't quite sure how to explain that they may not be home for extended periods sometimes, yay Nexus.

Just. Wow. It kinda awes Isis how rich they actually are, because, really, she doesn't think about it all that often.

[One of the politcal parties. They tend to be a bit more socially liberal, and not quite so much against gay rights, which is why she mentioned it that way.]

She nods. "I think so." She grins, squeezing Isis's hand. "I really do think so. I'll get you a cashier's check tomorrow?"

Gloria blinks. "All right, then. I'll get the papers in order, we can meet and get them signed."

[Ah, okay. Makes sense.]

Isis returns the handsqueeze, "Sounds like a plan to me." ^_^ She beams.

"...Thank you, Miss Roberts." Well, it feels like the right thing to thank her.
