English anyone?
*sigh* some days i miss being an english major :-( Something about sitting in a library doing research on a piece of lit so i can write a paper about it soooo appealing right now. I just read one of my friend's xanga's in which he was complaining about writing a 20 pg paper about a poem he's reading and i was jealous! lol It seems like recently most of my friends barely speak english (as in they are foreign and english is not their first language...not as in, they are just stupid americans...just thought i'd clarify)...much less are they able to understand high level literature. Something about all this mechanics strikes me as too simple. You have this particular mechanical set up that generates this exact electric impulse (or w/e it is designed to do) so that this particular machine can operate exactly as it is suppose to. No intricacies. No double meanings, allusions, hidden meanings, what the author might or might not have been trying to say...no mystery. *sigh* the reason most ppl love mechanics is the one area of it that bugs me. Oh well...i'm not really depressed, upset, etc...i still really enjoy my school...just kinda longing for some intelligent conversation as of late. Seems like the only person i can talk to w/o using a dictionary is my roommate...gets old after a while.
