Life as a housewife. Life as a military wife. Life in Kentucky. and finally, life amidst the swirl of our home.
We moved from Texas to Kentucky. Fort Hood to Fort Knox. It was a bit of a culture shock, but a welcome relief to return to midwest attitudes with just enough southern hospitality to make you feel good. a lot has changed in the last year.
Married life is way better than expected. I managed to convince anne to move to Kentucky and share a house with Dan and I. I somehow found the one best friend and the one husband who don't hate each other. We have taken a number of the younger army boys under our wing and welcome them into our house just about every weekend, and sometimes during the week. It's a lot of fun to amaze them with my cooking and our hospitality. I've made a few friends of my own in the area, and I would even venture to guess that some of the guys who have come over are better friends with Anne and I than they are with Dan. It's funny.
It's amazing how much there really is to do staying at home and not working. I'm rarely bored, and even if I am I always have the internet at my disposal. Between trying to keep up on housework (which is hard sometimes since I don't see a mess always), managing finances, running errands, and taking care of the house (fixing things), I have enough to do. I do kind of think of it as a full time job since I do probably 40 hours a week total of things involving the household. I can honestly say that I'm satisfied with my choice right now, even though the future ramifications of not working do worry me. I've been applying to jobs and working on a class so I can get my CPA, but nothing has happened yet. so, I continue to live my 50's style life and I'm happy with it.
