Hi! My name is Nora, and I live in LA. I've lived in Southern California my whole life, except for the five years I spent in Virginia getting my degree in media studies. I grew up in Manhattan Beach; I worked for a tiny weekly paper there for two years after school, until I landed my current job almost a year ago.

I work for the Los Angeles ( Read more... )

It's very nice to meet you, too. The pleasure's all mine, Johnny. Is it all right if I call you that?

I'm a huge fan. You're a very gifted artist.

*laughs softly* You could be worse, but you're not.

What's keeping you busy these days?

Uh... off the record. I promise. *smiles*

Might I suggest you consider adapting your motto to "work hard, play harder"?

*Winks*

Please to meet you, Nora.

*mouth twitches into a smirk*

Mmm. Maybe that's just the version I use in public? *laughs, winks back*

Pleased to meet you, too.

I wouldn't ever say this in front of my boss, but, going higher up on the celebrity chain is probably about the last thing I'd like to do. I'd love to get into investigative journalism--write stories that make a difference, you know? Ferret out the bad guys and bring the truth to the public.

We seem to be losing a lot of that kind of reporting, these days, with the big media conglomerations buying up all the newspapers. Like I heard up in the San Francisco area, one conglomerate owns all the daily newspapers, for a good fifty miles around the city. And they're based in the midwest someplace!

People are getting spoon-fed santitized, feel-good, dull human-interest pieces. The days of the likes of Woodward and Bernstein are numbered. I don't want to see that happen.

...sorry. I can get on a good rant about all this sometimes. *laughs*

Yes. Corruption. I think some people get away with too much already; if they start to feel like no one's ever watching or ever going to tell on them, things are just going to get worse all around.

And thanks.

So what's your interest in corrupt bastards? What are you trying to find?

The "Saints of South Boston." Can't say that I have, unless they're a boy band or something.

Why? Should I have? What's special about them?

Oh, they're just kinda a big news story here on th' East Coast. 's probably why ye haven't heard o' us them.

They're vigilantes who kill th' fuckin' scum o' th' earth because they believe that is God's purpose for 'em in life. Rapists, child molesters, mafiosos, drug dealers- all these guys who get out on bail an' are allow t' walk th' streets again're found by these Saints. An' when they're found, th' Saints send 'em t' whatever God these criminals had in their wicked life.

It's a fuckin' news circus that story is.

Interesting. And what do the police think of these vigilantes? And the public?

Hi, Peter. It's nice to meet you, too.

So what do you do that you're open for interviews?

(Hahahaha. No worries, I've been there with some of mine...)
