So Graduation was incredibly long on Saturday. I was up at 7:30 to pack up the rest of what was in my room and get ready for the ceremony. The ceremony itself was very boring and seemed to drag on forever. Our commencement speaker was awesome. She was a cambodian refugee who wrote a book about her experience being taken away from her family when she was a child. She was very powerful and inspiring. There was big after party at my house afterwards. My family and my two best friends Erin and Heather came. Craziness. I honestly can't believe four years of college has passed by so quickly... WOW!
Now it's time to take a slapstick back to reality and start looking for jobs. I have no idea what I want to do. The thing about communications is that it is such a broad area and there's so much to do. I really want to still stick with my passion for technical theatre.. so I am eventually hoping to move to Portsmouth or Boston to get a job at a theatre out there. For right now I am going to apply for jobs at least somewhat locally. I got an offer to direct a play based on one of my mom's book Bravery Soup.. the same play I assitant directed at the Barn Playhouse last summer so I am pretty excited for that. I also applied for a Teacher's Assitant position at a school for the disable in Watertown Massachuetts. I am still waiting to hear back from them. It would be awesome if I got that job because it would get me out of Amherst..
I still sometimes think about the falling out my friend Will from the Barn Playhouse from earlier in the school year. If cross paths again I hope things won't be too awkward between us when we see eachother.
Well just a brief update.. back to my job searching
Sweet Janine
