I've been wanting to update a lot and just lost interest when it came down to it.
Last I left you with the new job I'd been offered. Well that lasted about a week.
I went in the next morning, trained for an hour - which consisted of listening to Patty's voicemail, and writing down the messages. Then listening to Patty's one-sided conversations to see how she answers calls. Which caused John to yell at us because I "wasn't doing anything". So then I had to call people back and just make shit up because I didn't know what the fuck I was talking about. So I'd call them and assure them that they were important to us and I wanted them to know we'd gotten their message and that Patty would return it as soon as she possibly could.
Then I went down to the floor and worked lunch.
Thursday I came in (on my day off) for 3 hours to write down the messages, call people back, and then sit around for 2.5 hours. Haha.
The next day Gwen paid me $10 to check the messages again and write them down.
I had Friday night, all of Saturday and Sunday morning off.
Monday Patty won't tell me when she wants me to help out again.
Tuesday I find out that Patty put in her (TBA) week's notice.
Wednesday I ask John what that means for the job I was doing with her, and he apparently thought I was asking if I could have her job - assuring me that he'd let me interview when he got organized and started interviewing people for her job.
*slaps hand to forehead*
So two Thursdays ago I started my laundry, and went out with my Mom to buy a winter coat, and get dinner.
We came back to my apartment to find Grey's Anatomy wasn't on. We watched a movie instead.
She left and I watched the baseball game.
At 12:30 I remembered my laundry, went upstairs to find it missing.
I wrote 14 notes stating that my clothes had been taken and that I needed them to be returned. By the time I got back upstairs some of my clothes had been returned but not my work clothes. It was so messed up.
So Friday after my lunch shift my Mom comes back into town and we buy new work clothes for me. They were expensive and I felt so terrible that I couldn't afford them, and that she was being so kind as to buy them for me.
I was so down in fact that she invited me to come home and stay the night.
Mom, Dad and I watched the Tigers lose the World Series. And I spent the night.
Saturday I spent the whole afternoon driving around Chelsea and Dexter looking for metal buckets with my Dad. Heh. It was fun.
It simply was a wonderful afternoon. I love my Dad and I love spending time with him like that. The way you get in with my Dad is to be interested in something he's interested in. Luckily enough he has A LOT of hobbies. The buckets were for his latest clay project - making a Raku Kiln. When I got home I made pumpkin pie. Watched the Lake House with Mom, helped with dinner, which David joined us for, and then Mom, David and I went to see the movie The Queen.
After the movie Mom and I went back to my apartment to grab my phone charger (only to find the door was unlocked and the missing work clothes had been tossed onto my dining room table.) It was quite frightening, the idea that someone had entered my apartment when I was not there... I had the lock changed on my door as a result.
Sunday I spent the whole afternoon helping my Mom around the yard. It was equally as wonderful as driving around with Dad had been.
That evening I returned to the real-world.
Tuesday night I broke my phone. Saw Running With Scissors with a couple of work friends - Kelly and Stacie.
Wednesday I bought a new phone. Left work early in the evening to join David, Ryan and Bethany to see American Splendor at the Michigan Theatre and got to see Harvey Pekar(sp) himself.
Thursday I slept in. Cleaned my apartment. Went to my voice lesson. Went to my Grandparent's, visited with Gram while Grandpa was sleeping, and visited with him once he'd woken up. I stayed for dinner with them which was splendid. I love that my Grandma is doing so well again. After dinner I went to a concert at Concordia University for the A2 School for the Performing Arts faculty. My Dad met me there. It was good to see him (though I'd wished we'd connected earlier in the evening so we could have gotten dinner together).
I left the concert early so I could watch Grey's Anatomy. I felt bad, just ditching my Dad, but we'd talked about it beforehand. And he was just going to go home after the concert anyway.
Friday I worked lunch and had the evening off. I'd planned on seeing Borat with David, Ryan and Bethany but to our dismay it was sold out. So we rented Art School Confidential - which was good in and of itself. It was a great evening all in all. Good times had by all.
Saturday I slept in, completely lazed about all afternoon. Got ready for work and left by 4:15. Arrived at work at 5:00. Ugh to Football. Thank God it's over.
We had a short-lived rush. My entire section was filled. Which was awesome and horrible at the same time. I think I handled it well and made up for any mistakes that may have occurred. I was tipped well so that's gotta count for something, right? By 8:30 I was cut.
I left by 9:00. Grabbed some dinner, bought some soda and candy, and washed my car. Went back to my apartment, showered, got dressed and met up with David and the gang to see Borat (this time for real). The movie was hilarious and I totally recommend it.
Today I have plans to see Emmarie for the first time in at least a month (if not longer).
I hope all is well with everyone else.
Ciao.
