I <3 Cincinnati

There have been many people here in Cincinnati who have not been fond of the city. For whatever reason (and sometimes decent reasons), they just don't like it here.

This past Thursday, I met a friend Mike who was visiting from out of town (Detroit area) and he wanted to see the city. We had a great time and he seemed to be very much in awe of the city. We went to Universal Grille for dinner and then made our way to Shooters to watch the line dancing and just chatting. We talked a lot about Detroit and Cincinnati. I talked about the theatre scene here and how wonderful the culture is.

After leaving Shooters, we walked around a bit more making our way over to Fountain Square. Despite the cold, it was very beautiful to see the fountain flowing and such. We finished the evening at On Broadway, where I saw more friends and a friendly crowd.

More than anything, I realized that a city doesn't make a home, it's what you put into it. Cincinnati has some wonderful people and it was a trip seeing friends out. Mike was quite impressed with how every place we went, I knew several people. It was true. It was not planned, it's just how things went.

I have found my niche here in Cincinnati. The arts, the people, a great boyfriend and place to live, many friends. I believe that we are close to a lot of good things and good cities to visit. Who could ask for anything more?

cincinnati, visit, friends
