leave the front porch light on

This is spontaneity at its finest.

Yesterday afternoon Claire asked me if I wanted to drive to Austin later that night to see Converge play at Emo's. I mean, really, Claire. Do you have to ask? Converge? HELL YEAH! LET’S GO!!!

Within a span of three hours (give or take an hour), I left work for the day, made a brief appearance at copy.com, ate dinner at home, then (armed with a pillow) hopped into Casey's van for a night of zings!, dork straps, punching and singing along to the party shuffle. Yup. What began as a mini road trip with me and Claire turned into a mini road trip with me, Claire, Maria, Casey, Russell and Brian Campbell. The girls and the boys joined forces for Party Van 04.

We missed Sea of Thousand and I didn't like Cave In but Converge was excellent. It was an unbelievable good sight to see Russell emerge from the pit completely drenched in sweat.

Hey tara_ashley, during Converge, I thought I saw your boyfriend jump on stage, sing a few lines to a song, then stage dive. But I could be wrong.

So here I am... back at work with only two hours sleep. I tried to sleep a little bit in the van but no can do. You try sleeping with Smokey B lying next to you talking all kinds of smack and Russell and Casey in the front singing loudly along to Op Ivy & Propaghandi songs.

There is so much I'm leaving out but I can't recall it at the moment because I'm half dead.

Tonight I'm going to sleep for 100 years.
