well well welllllll
i am home. after being a ridiculous stress-case thursday night/ friday morning (completely unnecessarily, of course), amelia and i left eugene at a little after 11:30am. i woke up early, went with corina to deposit my bike (almost forgotten! no!) to the storage unit, said bye to coco, packed up my car which was much more...packed than anticipated, cleaned apartment, got gas, coffee, and CHAINS after my mom convinced me to just do it, and then we took off. can i just say right now that there was...ZERO snow over both passes we drove over? none, really. maybe a powdered sugar sprinkle on some trees over the siskyous but that's all. i hereby declare that i will not let other people's freak-outs affect me as much as they did last week. it sucked. anyway, the drive was nice and easy and pretty much sunny all the way down. i'm glad amelia and i caravanned, though. it was good to have some human contact every couple of hours. also good stuff was that i got in around 9pm, not too shabby if you ask me.
saturday i was allowed to sleep in and so i took advantage of it, not waking up until 2pm. i "blame" this on the fact that A) i didn't go to sleep till 4am woke up at 8am then drove all day, and B) there are at LEAST 8 downy pillows on my bed. it's magical. then i did laundry alllllll day. srsly, i packed a suitcase full of dirty laundry- and i mean i had absolutely no clean clothes left. this forced my to stay in my pjs all day, woops. jessie came over and then i dragged her with me to montgomery to see the winter play, which we did not pay for. well we made our presence obvious, but we're sneaky and that's all you need to know. yesterday we went into the city to a friend-family's christmas party. molly just got back from london the day before and we drank mulled wine (not quite rivaling the amount from last year, but we left early-ish cuz spikey has school today) and talked and talked. it was good to catch up, as always. then we went to a buenisimo mexican restaurant with cj and his family, which was excellent, too. goal: eat as many tacos/burritos/enchiladas/tamales as possible before i go to spain.
today i am left alone, as my family is at school or work. my mom did, howevah, leave me with a list of things to "accomplish" today.
decorate christmas tree: once upon a time, wasn't this something a family did all together whilst drinking hot cocoa and listening to christmas music? oh well, at least i get creative liscence and nobody's gonna argue with me about which decorations go where. except that my mom will probably tell me to re-do it. hmm.
make a better x-mas cd: we have a TON of mixes and cd specials, etc. but a lot of the songs are godawful. so my homework is to make the ultimate cool good christmas mix cd. could be fun, eh?
make dinner: on the menu, meatloaf! hahaha. this is going to be interesting. it's a culinary venture i've never attempted before. my dad's always been the meatloaf maker. so ironchef, watch out.
