Andrea was recently appointed as the National Editor of the Clef, which is the newsletter for the music fraternity that we both belong to (congrats btw, honey). A couple days ago, she sent a note to the chapters with a template for how a chapter report should be structured and included an example for a "fictional" Zander Chapter. It actually details stuff in our lives pretty well, so I figured I'd repost it here:

We’ve had a busy semester here at Zander Chapter. Our newest member, Olivia, has graduated to trying solid foods, with limited success. It seems that, while rice cereal is palatable, bananas and pears are both inedible at the moment. Co-president Matt continues to chair our fundraising committee with project Work Day; as a committee member, Andrea is exploring the feasibility of Project Freelance Writing. We’ll update as things progress.

The entire Chapter has become involved in volunteering for the Minnesota DNR’s Frog and Toad Calling Survey, in its own way music-related. The survey has us driving various routes in the state after dark and listening for nature’s musicians, cataloging what we hear. Andrea and Olivia have also volunteered with the La Leche League, First Universalist Unitarian Church of Rochester, and Andrea is the volunteer editor/proofreader for the Gift of Life Transplant House
newsletter.

Also on the music front, our Chapter has started attending music classes geared towards Olivia’s development at Blue Moon Music. At our first class, we skipped, danced, jumped, and hopped to the music, and Olivia got her first taste of percussion as we played drums, cracked sticks together, and shook plastic eggs filled with beans. This course also constitutes our current school activities, other than our daily exploration of the world through the eyes of a
seven-month-old.

We have no current pledge classes. Our entire Chapter is planning to attend the wedding of Neil Duncan (Zeta Alum) in June, and our co-presidents will be celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary on June 22nd.

Over the summer we’ll be concentrating on our fundraising and volunteerism, and we’ll be traveling to Wisconsin for a multicultural conference (meeting Ryan Zander and his wife, Sutanya, who is from Thailand). This will be our first meeting with Sutanya, as well as the first time Olivia meets her aunt and uncle. We’ll be traveling again in October to visit Zeta Chapter and Michigan’s Copper Country.

family, olivia
