Motaku: Con Report, Day 2

Oct 10, 2010 09:38

Sales and attendance were much-improved on Saturday. Sales were especially good for a small con in its infancy. We sold a wide variety of items, including commissions, which I kept at the higher prices after all. I didn't get any color commissions, but it's just as well. I've been doing color ATCs.

Halfway through the day, I realized I had left my wooden pencils at home and the one mechanical pencil I had seems to have no extra leads. Bo did an emergency run to the art store for me. In his absence, evildennis pinch hit as a tablemonkey and he did a great job! I'm thinking of bribing him for other cons XD

Today's the last day and then we have a little over a month lead-up to Nebraskon. Instead of Lincoln, it will be in Omaha this year! I finally get to visit Omaha. People are eagerly anticipating us attending Naka-kon in the Spring. I have my eyes on Anime St. Louis as well! Getting back into the con circuit (circus), perhaps we can finally get an official-like vinyl sign and a display setup that isn't limited to binders. I'll definitely look into more promotional material coming up soon.

Thanks for all the comments on the last entry. I appreciate the support and suggestions. Tomorrow I'll have my final con and sales report with some apparent trends.

I haven't been taking pictures of on-site commissions. I'm bad orz
