Always around this time of year, things get complicated. The car is giving us trouble, which had us in at Firestone yesterday. It turns out we'll have to take it to the dealer for something that should (hopefully) be covered by the warranty. On top of that, Ein's contracted some sort of eye infection, I suspect from his stay at the kennels. Bo's company Christmas party is coming up at the end of the week, and while I normally don't put too much weight on how I look, I want to look good for his co-workers, which will require having my highlights re-touched and finding some new clothes appropriate for a Christmas party. The last one isn't a huge deal. I have something in mind that would just take some touch-up to make it look nice (a pin or corsage or something).
All this could really put some stress on our Christmas budget.
On the other side of the spectrum, I thought I was on holiday, but church popped up with an art project for the Christmas Eve service. I can't think of a good enough reason to turn down the church. "I'm on vacation from art." Just doesn't cut it, because I was going to use this time to make gift art anyway.
So, I'm getting a little stressed out here. Some things are going to have to be re-prioritized, though I don't have much wiggle room with the baby to look after too.
I suppose I'll get that vacation at the beginning of the year.
LOCAL FRIENDS
Have we established a day for Friendsmas? I assume we're meeting at
evildennis's new place? Will we be having a pot luck this year and if so, is there a theme? I have a few suggestions along the lines of "Dippables", "Breakfast", "College Foods", "Red and Green", or "Will it fit on a nacho?"
Anyway, let's get that squared away ASAP, please, so I can arrange for a sitter or decide if the baby will be coming along and sleeping or what.
