A/N: I followed the prompt loosely. You've been warned. My first attempt at "dark fic" since I've been assigned one for psummertime , and while I'm super excited about it, I've never written dark fic before. So, enough rambling, here's an attempt at dark fic in a ficlet featuring my Victorious OTP.
It's at night when the bubbly, eccentric Cat Valentine has to deal with her ghosts.
When she's laying face up in her cotton candy colored bed, staring up at her ceiling like she expects it to open up at any moment.
She doesn't know why she's like this, and it's certainly not because she likes being like this.
It’s a terrible feeling, and as her fingers trace the patterns on her comforter that she can barely make out in the darkness, her mind wanders to the people that know her. Or at least, think they know her.
Tori, and Andre, Beck, Jade, even Trina.
She can’t help but wonder if they’ve ever felt like this. Lost. Alone. Cold.
Her brown eyes blink lazily against the sleep that won’t come and she wonders if any of them really care about her. Not like they showed it much anyway.
From the cold-hearted remarks from Jade to the brush-offs and eye rolls from everyone else, a whimper of dramatized revelation scratches at the back of her throat.
In the next moment, she surprises herself, rolling over on her stomach as she reaches for her phone on the nightstand.
‘Hey, Tor, can we talk?’
