When I was a little girl, there was a game I used to play with my parents at Christmastime. We’d go through the toy section J.C. Penney Christmas catalog page by page, and each pick one thing on the page that we wanted Santa to bring us.

Dear Sarah,

Hello. My name is Vicki and I am nine years old. It is nice to meet you. Out in my backyard, I split the ends of firm sticks, one by one, gluing little bits of foam to the opposing tips. The longest, most flexible stick was split on either end, a bit of twine running along its length and tied firmly with two knots ( Read more... )
