Since September or so, I've been on a quest to rewatch all of RTD-era Who, before The End of Time airs. I'm glad at least someone else likes 42! I especially like that scene; it did help me connect with Martha and I really liked seeing how he'd grown to trust her in that bit, since I always felt he was never on a whole that fair to her.

I will *never* make fun of the fire and ice and rage speech. I love it.

I love all of these choices and your explanations. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Oh fabulous, can't wait for the next five. I could never choose just ten from all the Dr Who moments. It would be impossible.

I've always enjoyed the hell out of 42...I still kinda roll my eyes at Martha through the whole thing, but the Doctor is brilliant and gorgeous. Not that he's ever NOT, but you know what I mean. Not only that, but you can take screencaps of it and pretend it's alt!Ten!

I'm loving these lists. PLEASE CONTINUE, FANDOM.

Re 42, I'm not sure the episode would make my top ten, but I do rather like it in an odd way. I'm pretty sure _thirty2flavors and I even had an argument about it once during one of our re-watches. But then I kind of like the Dalek two-parter in S3 as well. It's... pretty rare to find an episode of Doctor Who I *don't* like. XD

I wouldn't put the entire episode "42" in my top ten, but if I'm just going for individual moments, then the "Burn with me" business and the Doctor saying "I'm so scared" and then screaming in pain.... I'm sorry, I think I need to go lie down now.
