Well we have solid walls again and our surviving pets have been safely home for just over a week now. I'm still worried about little Albert, he seems to have a bald spot developing on his neck and the fur on his hind region is little more than peach fuzz. He may be over-cleaning himself resulting in hair loss because he is stressed out from being alone. I'm not sure what to do for him besides hold him more often regardless of ho hard he keeps biting me. I am gradually getting all our displaced stuff settled into place. I have been able to widen our living room space a little and make it easier to navigate around Hentai's gaming table. I've also begun to recover my garden. It may be a while before the Basil is usable but the rest of the herbs are doing great. The down side is that I can't use my patio furniture. While the workers were out there they completely destroyed one chair and damaged the other enough that it is slowly collapsing when sat upon.
I've entered a political debate with my dad. He is a republican though not the card carying variety anymore. I don't really affiliate with one party or the other but for the purposeses of the upcoming election I may as well be a democrate. Hentai is Libertarian which may be ultimatly what I am, but until I fully understand the terms as they were ment to be used vs how they are used I want to refrain from defining myself one way or the other. The largest argument I've gotten from dad has to do with providing tax breaks to the wealthy (which he is). I've tried explaining to him that I'm poor so I am not afan of the wealthy getting tax breaks or having the option to move money into tax shelters or off shore accounts with little risk and penalty. I don't support percent to percent tax rates for all classes. I think the less you are paid the lower percent you should have to pay to taxes, and I think Social Security should be optional at most. As it is who knows which generation will be stuck paying out the last of the social security to not get any back themselves. Anyway I think my largest issue has to do with finding alternative fuels. I very much want to see Big Oil go the way of Big Steel and Big Railroad. Just another ugly chapter of American history. A secondary issue I have has to do with the lack of an ethical backbone I've seen in both McCain and Palin. The manipulative, fear mongering alarmist semantic crap they pull and then they dig thier heels in about the morality of those who call them on it. I do not want people that do this without hesitating in a position of power where they can piss off foriegn nations with that stuff and then turn around and say they were misunderstood, its not thier fault.
