In honor of labor day...

...and the closing of summer
I chose a very apt song to present today.
With probably one of my favorite drum beats ever in a song.
Consistant, solid, and beautiful...

Deathcab For Cutie
Summer Skin

"Squeaky swings and tall grass
The longest shadows ever cast
The water's warm and children swim
And we frolicked about in our summer skin

I don't recall a single care
Just greenery and humid air
Then Labor day came and went
And we shed what was left of our summer skin

On the night you left I came over
And we peel the freckles from our shoulders
Our brand new coats so flushed and pale
And I knew your heart I couldn't break
Cause the seasons change was a conduit
And we left our love in our summer skin..."

...and it relaxes me oh so well. Deathcab does this for me often. i missed a lot of their songs so much, and never realized it. Anyways, I hung out with friends of mine (rae and sam) that I hadn't seen in a while. They got wrapped up in smoking and cards, and I got a bit bored...it was great to see them though. <3 It was a good stress reliever for the day.

Tonight, I have to figure out what the story is on this weekend. At the same time, I want to find a way to schedule myself a weekend to go "home" in the next month or so. Not here...but "home" home. I feel like a lot of this has strained my parents' and mine relationship, and feel an urge to reconcile these issues.

If nothing else, to plead that they stop being so harsh to Danny. God meant for him to be there...we know this now. If only they could see it. Class time. GTG.

Passing through unconcious states...
...when I awoke, I was on the highway,
