I had an older journal account from a couple years ago, with the username I use with everything. I figured I'd keep this one for my writing (since it tends to link up with potentially naughty things), and have the other one be my DragonCave account. It has the same name and everyrthing, so why not?

Chapter one: Grammar is your friend.

This chapter will cover some of the basics, broken down into sections. Search for the bold numbers to jump to each section if there's something you want to read about.

Homonyms are tricky things. No, that has nothing to do with gay men - it means words that sound similar but have different meanings. These cause many, many errors in stories - spell check will accept the words, but won't see them as being improperly used. Variety is the spice of life, they say. With that in mind, watch your dialogue - not the speech itself, but how you phrase how they say things. Open a newspaper - or a news website - and find an article where they quote people. I promise you, every single one will use 'said' - he said, she said, they said, and so on.
