Day 6 - Most annoying character
It took me ages because I had trouble differencing ‘annoying’ from ‘hate with the firey passion of the sun’ but I eventually settled on one. I really didn’t want to say like Slippy or Navi since that was too easy but at the same time I wanted to avoid saying Shinji from Fate/Stay Night cause I want to light him on fire so that isn’t just annoying; it’s way more than that. I eventually settled on someone I hinted at on day 2. Seriously fuck Areith.
I hate her and she ruins the whole game for me. She could just have easily been replaced with a shiny stone and the plot would have still worked just fine. Seriously fuck Areith.
Now really how many times have we seen a main love interest who is a reserved quiet girl with a gift for magic who turns out to be the last of an ancient race with a deep connection to the planet who has to die at/near the end? Everyone is like “Oh noes! She died zomg! O^O!!!!11!!!!!!one!!!” But I’m like “Oh OK. Hey FF7 Imma let you finish but Chrono Trigger had one of the most shocking deaths of all time. Of all time!” (Yes even when I’m not talking about Chrono Trigger I’m still talking about Chrono Trigger.) Seriously fuck Areith.
Oh and better yet is the fan’s view of her; if you don’t know I fucking hate FF7 fanboys cause the game was good but not as good as they seem to think. Anyway this is how they see Areith and this is how they see Tifa. You might be able to tell why this annoys me. Seriously fuck Areith.
Oh and just in case you didn’t get it I’m going to repeat it: fuck Areith. Just like Cloud she could have been a good character if she had been written better but she wasn’t so she isn’t. Favourite game couple is next and I’m going to say from no one I am not going to take into account any adaptations that carry over wholesale from the source material. So for example I could put Bleach: the 3rd phantom up for best story since it is a story only for the game but I couldn’t put Yoruichi/Soi Fon up for best couple since that comes from the manga. So for now I’m Silica and fuck Areith.
