I got there a quarter to eight and I found my way to the back of the longest lineup I have ever been in.  It literally went all the way around the block, and then some.  And I was there fairly "early"!

Anyways, finally managed to get in a little after nine and tried to get as close to the stage as I could.  There were lots of people, definitely more than they had sold tickets for.  The sound crew did their thing for close to half an hour and finally, amidst the stage smoke, coldplay appeared.

They started off with a new number before jumping into their famous opener, Politik.  Chris Martin was absolutely wonderful.  The band went through about five new songs and about as many old ones, including the hidden track "Til' Kingdom Come" which was a purely acoustic number with Guy playing the Harmonica and Will on the piano for a change.  One song after the other, old or new, the crowd cheered on CMartin's eccentric stage habits; jumping up and down, throwing his hands randomly in the air, running from end to end on stage or in his own world pounding away at his piano.

The stage itself was well put together, the crew did a great job with that.  I thought the lighting on the stage was very well thought out, as is the case in all the coldplay concerts that I've seen atleast.  The crowd was fantastic, loudly cheering every song they played, singing along to the hits and all ears on the new tracks they were hearing for the first time.

Coldplay, above all, looked in place.  The band has definitely grown up.  They seemed to be as comfortable and as charismatic as ever, coolly moving through their songs, engaging with the audience in just about every song.  Thank you Jon, Guy, Will and Chris, for treating the coldplayers of Toronto to such an amazing show.  Can't wait to see them again in August.  It was something else.  So with that I'm off, and here's a few pictures I took at the event.  Took a few small videos and lots more pictures as well if anyone wants to see more.

Peace, love, and coldplay.

p.s. and of course anyone can use the photos for icons.. pics.. whatever.. as long as i'm told and credited i suppose.. thanks =)
