ISP woes

Jan 02, 2009 12:53

Hmm, it looks like my POP client is getting rejected by my ISP's mail server.

Check username and password - correct. Put them in again and restart email client to make sure. Same error.

Attempt webmail login on ISP's website using the same details. Works OK. So it's not the username/password combo that's the problem.

Check normal local call wait times on the ISP history page for this time of day. About 10 minutes.

Check current local wait time on ISP status page. 49 minutes. Oh yeah, something has gone down.

Check current status page overall view. "Problem with email wait times, being looked into." Not exactly what I was experiencing, but given that they're working on fixing email problems at the moment, and I can still access my mailbox via the web if I really feel I have to, I don't think there will be anything productive to be gained from sitting in the techsupport queue for the next hour.
