Summer cool

Discovery!

If I keep the windows in the bedroom wide open all night, then by dawn it's actually cool enough to warrant the use of a blanket. And unexpectedly, I do actually seem to be able to sleep with the streetlights and noise being funnelled straight into the room.

Health update: Given the aforenoted inaccuracies of the scales I get weighed on, and taking into account the likely mass of the kit I tend to lug around in my pockets, it's fairly likely that I've dropped below one hundred kilos. Of course, that's still one hundred kilos with a gut, not one hundred kilos of bodybuilder muscle, but it's an amusing waypoint.

Next marker: 200 pounds. Once I get there, I consider it likely that the diabetes will back off a bit. I'll probably be able to sleep a lot better, too. I've collected 'before' data to compare to the tests I'll have rerun at that point.

Tonight: Going to see this musical. Ticket provided by my mother, who is much more into following politics than I am. While it's true that I lived through the referenced historical events, it never really had much of an impact on me personally, however tumultuous it may have been for those at the top.

Still, musical theatre, eh? Expanding one's cultural experiences and all that.
