I must say, this whole psuedo-employment thing certainly has its benefits.
Time, for one. Here it is, on the last late-night-shopping-in-the-suburbs-before-Christmas day, and all we needed to get was a couple of groceries and some door repair gear for maybe a little light project work over the break. Gifts are bought and (mostly) wrapped, that ones that need mailing are mailed, there is food in the freezer and not terribly much on the schedule.
If this is what it could be like every year, then I'm all for it.
Speaking of which, the refinancing has just been approved, although whether the paperwork will be done before everything shuts up shop for the end of year break is unknown. Sooner is better than later, of course, but it shouldn't cause too much of an issue either way.
I have new books to read, there should be some more movies coming out on the 26th if I can find a non-allocated-seating cinema anywhere, and then it's just a case of drifting around to a party or two while waiting for the post-holiday sales to start showing up.
Next door is still on the market - they've cut the asking price by over ten percent. I'm not sure if this is the best time of year to sell, as people have other things on their mind, but it'll probably be gone in three to four weeks at most. The current renters there might have moved out, judging by the moving van that was blocking their driveway most of the other day. We may have new neighbours soon.
I think I may have overdone it on the Pilates the other day - my shoulders still hurt. Note to self - just because you feel like you can do double your normal exercises at the time, that's not a reason to actually do so. Ow.
