Pretending for a moment that neither myself nor anyone else I know has a life outside of entertainment, I'll ramble.

I finished Sharpe. Am very sad about. Quite pleased with it all. Loved Waterloo. But sad. Wish there was more.

Saw Peter Pan with mom and the nephew. Actually really good! I was surprised how much I enjoyed it! Hook was tremendous, and while there was definitely a little too much sexual tension between the nine year olds, Pan was wonderful, too. The lost boys were incredibly adorable.

Also used the nephew as an excuse to see Black Beauty again. Farmer Grey is way too hot for his own good. And as mrkinch said, gone far too quickly. (Aside: Thewlis has beautiful hands!)

Just got back from seeing Spiderman 2, which was far far far more enjoyable than I expected. Fun, exciting, funny, and visually fantastic. And while I've never been fallovermyselfinlove with Toby, I have always like him and I couldn't stop watching his mouth. His lips cry for a pencil. Providing that I find a nice enought image, I'd love to draw him.

Sticking with Spiderman for a moment, and anyone not interested in knowing ahead should know there's a SPOILER coming up. There's a scene after he's stopped this speeding train, and he passes out from exhaustion and the passengers lift him up and carry him over their heads with great care. I fell in love with Spiderman then. He has always had that vulnerability just beneath the suit, the all important humanity to the hero, but there was something about the way everyone touched him. His mask was gone, you see their reactions to his youth, and what one assumes to be hard, impervious flesh becomes pliant in his unconscousness. Wholly given to the fantasy as I was, there was something almost too human about it. It was a far better scene than any of those perfectly executed and precisely timed action sequences (which kicked serious ass, don't get me wrong). I can't wait 'til the third. (END SPOILER, btw.)

Nearly finished with The Fortune of War. I don't think they'll ever get home. And I can't say how glad I am that Stephen has fallen out of love with Diana... even if it seems to hurt him. I hope it stays that way but I doubt it.

I started watching my newly acquired theatrical FotR. It's amazing how fast it goes now that I'm so used to the more relaxed pace of the extended. But I'm so glad to be watching it. My (also newly acquired) love for Bean has finally shown me the shining light that is the loveliness of Boromir. It's funny how knowing an actor better (in a manner of speaking) can make one love or hate him more, just as knowing a person better in real life can do the same. Eye of the beholder and all that. I'm quite smitten now, so much so that when Aragorn and Boromir are discussing Minas Tirith while hanging out in Lorien, I didn't know who to watch! It was torture! *loves them both*

Oh yeah, and this thing happened today... like... Independence Day. I saw some flashes and pretties while driving. That was about the extent of the exercising of my patriotism.

Will be playing catch-up.
