Former professor of mine at Cornell this weekend: "Well, here's what you can do for getting into grad school - go find some professor at the University of Chicago who's really well-known in their field, and ask to audit a class. Then you can be really impressive, and they'll put in a good word for you with graduate programs."

Hindsight is always 20/20, and it stings a little.

Ooh, those are shiny. Brightening the picture helps a lot.

I like the first one best, I think - I'll switch this out for that one after I get home.

At risk of mouthing platitudes, better late than never?

It is good advice, though. I ended up doing something similar here by mistake, taking a class (non-degree status) with the professor who turned out to be the director of the program I was seeking admission into.

It worked.

It does sound like good advice - problem is, once the lease runs out I was planning on moving back home while I work on applying to grad schools. Home does not have anywhere near as cool as the University of Chicago for this kind of thing.
