"Seriously, when is the last time you've decorated a tree?" Elena stood back with an amused look as she watched Elijah reaching to put the star on top of their Christmas tree. "And I mean you, not the servants."
Truthfully though, their tree looked perfect to her even as she enjoyed teasing him. It wasn't the biggest tree ever but it was full and just the perfect shade of green, looking more than beautiful with the silver and red decorations that they had picked out earlier that day. Part of her missed the chateau where they had spent the last few months together but she was excited to be back in Paris, back in his townhouse, for Christmas.
Hearing the buzz of her phone, she chuckled as she passed one of the ornaments over before moving to grab her phone. Checking the screen, she glanced up with a smile. "It's Jeremy, he says his plane comes in on the twenty first." She knew Elijah was nervous about having the younger Gilbert joining them for Christmas but she couldn't be happier. Yes, she was nervous a bit too but she missed her brother.
