So for those who dont know, I recently bought myself my own flat. I've been renting since moving out of the house in Keilor East ande always felt a lttile miffed being somneones tenant. Things like not being able to hang pictures of my nephew etc got to me. So I got me money together and bought a place.

Besides the fact that the lounge is green - its not too bad. Oh and its not a nice subtle green. Its a kermit the frog style green. So painting will happen in Feb.

The worst thing about it all was moving in all that smoke. I'm an ex Asthma sufferer so it didn't help. As a result i got myself a chest bug and been cuaghing like a madman for the last week.

But despite the green walls and the green flem im finally in. I've even managed to get the kitchen sort of unpacked. Well OK - the beer is in the fridge. But i'm looking forward to being able to cook again.

Bought myself a Lauter Tun the other day, as Grain and Grape were having a sale. I'm going to use it to try and recreate the method Medieval brewers used ot make beer. Basically they heated their water, put it on top of grain and let it cool, then strain off and ferment. The lauter tun has a a mesh bottom so i can easily drain of the must and leave the spent grain in the bottom. I think for the first attempt i am not going to try anything ultra special. Maybe just some pale malt and see how it all works.

I've also got my ingrediants to make my second batch of the Wheat beer. This time, i'm going to dry hop using 20g of Saaz hops and use the Safwheat dry yeast instead of the Wyeast Liquid yeast. This beer may make it to festival. We will see how we go (have 2 weekend long events between now and then).

Till next time.
