Couple of piccies that I'm turning in with my app...I want to draw a fourth, but I can't decide what it should be.

This musical is vaguely set "at the turn of the century," which is very unhelpful to costume folks like me who are aiming for historical accuracy...so I settled on 1905. The movie it's based on (Smiles of a Summer Night) and the pictures from the original Broadway production were very unhelpful, because they couldn't quite settle on a year. Not to mention the ladies aren't wearing the proper undergarments...not that I blame them. Corsets circa 1900 were absolutely horrifying. *shudder*

This one isn't finished...I'm still editing it. I thought I was done, but I realized that a) Anne's hair should be down because she's having it brushed in this scene, b) the sleeves are not puffy enough at the top to be from 1905, and c) it's another white dress. I already have two white dresses for my portfolio:

I love the 20s so very very much. ♥ There's a play version of Gatsby out there somewhere, but I can't find a script to figure out which scene number these costumes belong to. This is the scene where Nick visits the Buchanan house and sees the girls lounging in white dresses on the couch.

I'm trying to decide if I should draw another dress from A Little Night Music or pick something from another show. *sigh*
