I'm listening to Jonathan and Tim rehearse "Shadows and Perspective" for their show tomorrow night at The Shop. It so complements the thoughts I've been pondering these last 2 days about life, death, love, pain, and the billions of individual realities that simultaneously exist on this tiny planet in this tiny corner of this small little galaxy. How a single day in a single town can share both new beginnings and tragic endings... so beautifully bittersweet.
One afternoon, walking home from school when I was 17, I found myself stricken by this:
"The meaning of life is just to live."
A phrase so simple, yet so overlooked; to simply experience -- the happy, the sad, the simple, the struggle, the pleasure, and the pain.
These days I have come to a deeper understanding of why we all walk this world, but I still feel like my epiphany of old speaks to the raw core of why we're all here. So often we like to over-complicate and over-think things; sometimes it's good to just breathe.
