So, I had about a week and a half off from AU to come home and chilax, that was my mission, relax and recoup for the final 1/3 of the second semester. Well I have to say mission accomplished. Lemme break it down for y'all:
Thursday:
Me and Lennon arrive, mack on crazy 3x3 burgers from In-N-Out and then go to sleep in comfy ass beds
Friday:
Early doctors appt. followed by KILLER SHRIMP and Shoshone and his friend (David I think). Lennon and Shoshone bounce and I start packing for my Confirmation retreat that I get to help lead. WAIT! All of the sudden I remember that I need to pick up my dog, so I go down to the groomer and realize that I lost my wallet! I head back to Killer Shrimp (right across the street) and ask there... they haven't seen it. I speed super fast back to my house and look for about 10 min to find it before I finally do. Then I go pick up my dog drop him off and leave for St. Charles. The busses are almost ready to go, so then I ask Benjamin (the leader) where I can get directions. He gives 'em to me, I say hi to people I haven't seen in a while then I hit up McDonalds with Brodis for some Fillet-o-Fish (a confirmation retreat ritual). After that I bounce and make my journey to Santa Barbara. I got my iPod, so I'm listening to mad tunes on my way there. Somewhere on that trip I was like 25 min ahead of the busses (i started 45 min behind) but then I got lost... twice. I missed the 154 turn-off becasue I'm blind, and then I turned onto a street that WASN'T Stagecoach rd. (the one I wanted) and began a 10min drive down ZOMBIE FRIGGIN' ROW!!!! So I called Lennon to tell him how Zombified it was and he laughed and encouraged me not to crash my car into a brick wall. So the long short of this is I got out and finally found the camp and ended up arriving a few minutes after the busses, oh well. So, then we ate pizza, me and Carlos gave talks, I met my small group (which totally rocked) and then we headed off to our cabins.
Saturday:
Well, all throughout the night it rained... hard. But when we woke up there was not rain and clear skies. Benjamin and I were talking about how we both prayed saying "God, if you let it rain all day saturday, then I'll know I've done something to make you angry". Well lucky for us it didn't rain all day saturday, just a few spats of rain here and there. Late at night though it started hailing!! Yeah, hail in Santa Barbara. But whatevs, that went away too. Since it was Saturday that meant Love Taps and Grocking, my third and most favorite thing to do on the retreat. I actually cried (yeah what, wanna fight about it!) during Love Taps. I didn't realize people thought so much of me... it really made my day. Then Grocking, it was cut short for some reason so I still had like 10 people left to grock, but I got the majority of my important ones in, especially my last grock, it was very important to me that I do what I did on that last grock. Then it was bed time.
Sunday:
Well, not much to talk about on suday. We all gave our prayer partners their rocks, and then people (like me) went up and gave witness speachs about the weekend. I was very proud of all the kids in my group, and all the students in general, it really was a great retreat. Then we had mass and said goodbye to San Marcos Baptist (I know I'm Catholic) Camp and made our ways home. When I got home I showered and went to bed.
Monday:
I did absolutely nothing!!!!! It was awesome! I stayed at home, seriously did not leave my house. I watched a movie, some TV, played some games surfed the web, oh it was great. It really helped take a load off.
Tuesday:
I think I actually showered this day. I took my bag into be repaired at this place "Lazar's Luggage" Then I visited H-Dub and chilled with some amigos of mine.
Wednesday:
I go to work out and then eat lunch and run some errands with my mom... good stuff. Then I ride out to Hollywood and pick up my new XBox 360!!! That's right Garrett, the nerdom intensifies when I get back!!! So for the rest of the day I was playing Ghost Recon 3, which is the sweetest 3rd person shooter ever! Teh End!
Thursday:
My Ghost Recon 3 had a huge scratch on it so I returned to GameDude (where I bought it) to exchage it for a new one... well worth the time. Went and ate some Baja Fresh with mom, came home watched march madness, went to sleep, a solid day.
Today:
I still need to: Shower, pack, eat, say bye to friends, find a way to fit both my XBox 360 and Guitar Hero into my bag, and last but not least... keep it real on my final day in SoCal. I'll see all you peeps at AU soon, and for those of you that I leave here in L.A., I'll be back, and then we can chill during the summer.
Peace out,
Pat
