Soar but good..

Aching a bit this morning, but I'm ok with that. Had a productful day yesterday.

Got up and Bear had been d/l some demos for the XBox, so I spent about 3 hours playing with them trying to decide if there were any which could be fun to own. While I was doing that, Bear snuck the ceiling fan we bought for the bedroom upstairs and took down the old fan we had and started trying to replace the new one. I went upstairs to see he was having issues and needed some new screws. We went to Lowes, bought the screws, and went to lunch. When we got back, I started yardwork. We had bought some plants from Lowes on Saturday. Specifically, we had bought a magnollia tree. I love the thought of having "your tree" which you plant the first year you're in a house and then having the ability to watch it grow. So, this is our tree. I wanted to plant it near the corner of the house, but there were some pretty old and diseased trees there that neeeded to be taken out. Also, our flower beds were filled with leaves that the previous owner had just piled on the beds. So, I raked up the leaves (3 lawn bags full), and took out three trees. I had every tool we had out there...Pick axe, axe, chain saw, shovel, and limb clippers. Took me 4 hours to get everything removed and get the 2 rose bushes, tree, and 2 other plants planted into the soil, however I was very happy with the outcome. AND we had a very good soaking rain, something that we needed in general, but this was helpful since the plants had just been transferred.

So, when I came in, I found that Bear had finished the ceiling fan in the bedroom and was working on wiring the switch. The silly owners put some type of fancy switch in the wall that makes you believe you can control the fan and light from the same switch. The house isn't wired that way, only having one set of wires.

Anyway, weekend ended with us watching Silverado prior to getting to bed. nothing too daring, however I'm happy with the progress we made yesterday.
