Possible New Roommate
I was out sick today, and finished Soon I Will Be Invincible which is a post-modern-y superhero novel. I feel it's important to throw in that post-modern-y distinction, because I have read a few superhero novels and it's definitely not the same thing. I'll do a bit of a review/advertisement later on, because it was excellent and I think people should read it.
The roommate who sleeps in the sectioned off part of the living room and therefore keeps our rent affordable has decided to go back to France, and somebody who's looking at his space is coming over tomorrow. I have some reservations, because one of the things he knows about the woman who's interested is that she's 31. Forgive me for being ageist, but I worry about the reasons a 31 year-old would be happy living with a curtain instead of a door. I'm waiting and seeing though, because the rent for that space is what makes my rent affordable (if we split the two-bedroom rent down the middle, it take more than I can reasonably spend). Besides, $525 a month is nearly impossible for this area, so it could very easily be someone who's job-hunting and wants to live in a nice area while she looks for something more permanent.
