Another Monthly update...

May 25, 2015 20:25

So, I survived another month. Not, that there was much thought that I wouldn't... but one never knows, yes?

I got off the Wound VAC on April 24th, and therefore cut my visits to the wound care clinic from 3 times a week, to 1 time a week, down to just 1 time every 2 weeks. And now that the thigh wound (the reason I was in the hospital and on the VAC in the first place) has closed, all we're taking care of is the toe wound.

However, because it's on the bottom of my big toe, on the upper digit of the toe, it's hard to "let it heal" since that part of the toe is rather important for walking. I can't not walk, y'all. Especially since I live in a two story house.

But, I'm taking care of my newly diagnosed diabetes (as in they were all, you're A1C is 11 are you a diabetic?) Classes, blood sugar monitoring, long-lasting insulin... the works. everyone's all, "Because you're a diabetic wounds take longer to heal." I know, both parents are diabetic and Mom's been insulin dependent for 20+ years.

In other news, my sister is going to attend K-Con again this year, and we'll be hosting my niece that weekend. Then, after K-Con, The Sister will fly up here and stay another 10 days. And I'm completely sure, that we'll be doing the niece's back-to-school shopping here again as well.

And because I hadn't seen it anywhere, and love to share (plus it inspired my avatar choice tonight):
