Just wanted to ask a question, seeing as I've got nothing better to report in here.

Don't worry, this time it is a serious question. XP

For those of you that use any form of image editing programs (i.e Photoshop, Painter, Gimp, etc), how many layers have you've used on the one drawing? And I'm talking a drawing with a background, effects, text, whatever you do with your drawings.

Because I've seen a lot of artists who use up to 200 layers on the one drawing, yet to me it looks like as if they could have only used ten max. And that's even if they use layers to separate their characters' colours, digitally ink their lines. Whatever.

If anything, the most I've ever used is about eleven. I don't do backgrounds often, but when I do I might use maybe one or two to create it. My characters I use one layer, unless I feel the need to do some effects on their clothes and need to separate them (i.e Jake's pants. I add in the text on his pants).

I just found it kinda mind boggling that some artist use up to 200 layers on the one drawing, and wonder if it's just me that sees that sort of thing kinda unnecessary. :o

And I just found out a co-worker I'm not too fond of is picking me up tomorrow morning for stocktake. God that's all I need first thing in the morning; to listen to her blathering about God knows what. I'm not a morning person, I'm really not. Thanks for asking me first, mum. NOT. -_- Crisis averted. It's funny when mum says I have a choice in everything, but tends to forget to ask me what I want to do.
