SGA Ep: Miller's Crossing

The boys certainly do clean up nicely.

Ronon looked great in his Earth clothes, when he normally doesn't do much for me. Ironically, as much as I find John very attractive, I've never seen him in civilian clothes I like. He looks much better in uniform. And, Rodney? The Monkees called. They want their pants back.

Based on the spoilery stills MGM released, I was hoping for more John & Madison and John & Ronon interaction. The chemistry between John and Madison was really obvious in the pictures; it made it look like they had more of a rapport going. I wonder if there was a scene between them that was cut? Plus, no episode is so good that it can't be improved upon by John and Ronon teamwork with guns. I'm just sayin'. ::is shallow::

Nitpick #1: The NID used to be so sooper seekrit that hardly anybody knew they even existed, yet now they wear windbreakers with their affiliation on them in public. That doesn't scream 'covert' to me. I knew they'd cleaned up their wicked ways on SG-1, but I hadn't realized they'd gone public.

Henry Wallace's men were very prepared. Not only did they kidnap Jeannie, they kidnapped a change of clothes for her too. I think it would've added something to the kidnapping if she'd been stuck in her pajamas for the whole episode.

I was getting a little annoyed with Caleb and Jeannie blaming Rodney for her kidnapping. It's not like Rodney knew Jeannie was being covertly monitored. How about placing the blame where it belongs, on the kidnappers?

Nitpick #2: Granted, I'm not an engineer, but I don't think you can program nanites to ignore an EM pulse. The effects of an EM pulse are a hardware issue, not a software issue.

It was ironic that Rodney wound up making the same kinds of arguments to Kevin (hey, if Sheppard won't name him...) that he'd blown off when Wallace made them to him. Kevin was equally unimpressed. Rodney looked just as frustrated as Wallace had been in the same circumstance.

Is it just me, or has the threat of the Wraith feeding on someone lost a little bit of its horror now that we know they can give that life force back? I know Wallace died, but I just wasn't feeling the same sense of impending dread that I used to, like during the attack in "The Siege."

There wasn't a lot of McShep interaction in this episode, but what there was was great. We got another "John" out of Rodney. And John absolutely forbidding Rodney to sacrifice himself to Kevin, then convincing Wallace to volunteer instead was pretty cold. We've seen that from John before, though. He can be quite ruthless when he wants to be. And that last scene in John's room...what do you say to a friend who's just convinced your and your sister's kidnapper to commit suicide for you? Rodney seemed really surprised (in a good way) at how far John was willing to go for him.
