Zachariah being dead is a VERY good reason to like this episode.
I'm going to have to watch this again, because Dean's woe-is-me routine grated on me badly, and I think it colored the whole episode. I enjoyed it, but not as much as I expected to; I think if I focus more on Sam, Adam, Castiel, and Bobby the next time around, I'll get more out of it. I especially want to relish Sam as the Pillar of Strength That Everyone Underestimates. Everyone else was falling to pieces around him, and he kept saying "Come on, guys, we can do this!"
I know that the writers are trying to show us Dean finally caving under the superhuman burdens he's been carrying for so long, but they're in serious danger of turning him into a one-note character.
Poor Sam has pretty much been fighting the apocalypse by himself the last couple of weeks while everyone around him bottoms out. I really hope that he's come through last season stronger as a person and that he can use that strength to fight off the apocalypse now that the others are on board again.
Ooh, what scene were Jared and Jensen talking about?
Here's hoping I did this right. Highlight to read spoiler:
Jared and Jensen were talking about how much they enjoy beating each other up when Sam and Dean have fight scenes, and then they said they'd just shot one where Sam and Dean's relationship had hit rock bottom. I don't think that scene has aired yet.
The 'recharge' may have been what was happening during those 'silent seconds' in the last ep - the bit after Cas curses out God and the... the big light in his eyes clip.
I also wonder where Cas is. Is the the one that was 'transformed' in this ep - or was it Adam?

Are you talking about the bright light heralding the arrival of an angel at the end? I think that had to be Michael. Dean couldn't look at Castiel or hear his true voice (wrong bloodline), but we know that John could look at Michael. I'm guessing both Adam and Dean could too, and Adam's eyeballs weren't bursting into flame like those poor guys in the bar at the beginning.

I'm really looking forward to the day that Sam and Dean can put all this behind them and move on. Reconcile, dammit!
