Rantings from the bonfire

The weekend started off with promise and ended horribly. Sounds Goth to me!
Actually the weekend didn't end totally horribly, just mostly bad with a slight influx of promise. Thanks to Chris and rivingmass for helping me decide what I need to do: move out, and fast. I've only been here for 3 weeks and already I must get out here, and I am dead serious about it.
Looking for places in Arlington (preferred), Alexandria, Falls Church, even Annandale (even if I don't speak Korean), someplace near a Metro or 6-7 day bus route.. DC is an option as well..
I will leave this wretched place. I will call the landlord tomorrow and tell him it's that we plan an easy escape route for me or I break the lease.. ironic that I paid up until the end of May already..
THURSDAY:
Work issues are becoming a bit more resolved now that I finally FINALLY got the infamous letter.. turns out not to be via FedEx as the landlord attested, but via USPS and was held at the post office, not via the landlord.. that was so silly.. but I digress.. I got 48 pages of documentation faxed over and FedExed over.. I spent the evening contemplating Exposure but decided against it as it is too far from Metro and is only meant for people with cars..
FRIDAY:
I got the strangest phone call from my landlord about some "issues" at the house regarding a strange "odor" coming from my room.. turns out the odor was of cat urine from the bathroom across from me, and of course, the roommates not only denied that but said that I was to blame for it. How I would be able to get cat urine to eminate from the bathroom, when I'm not even physically there to do it, whereas one of them has a cat, violating the lease agreement, is beyond my imagination..
So imagine having to deal with an upcoming house meeting regarding being accused of "never cleaning up the house" (when I do), never "taking out the trash" (when they've seen me do it) and the strange "odor" from my room (aforementioned), this on top of finding out that the rest of the required paperwork was not made available, thus having to do two more places to have them fax the paperwork to me, even though it's "not their normal policy to do so" (nothing I do is normal anyway, so just do it - and they did), and to find out later on that day the security person got everything needed to - Lord willing and the creek don't rise - render a quick and favorable decision by early next week and all will be right as rain at work once again..
Friday was the anti-fun.. until later..
I had to suck it all in for those_who_mourn had an event, a very cool one, Those Who Munch for April was to be at Bukom Cafe, and thanks so much for dmcindc, djpanic and mrspanic for making the evening full of fun (and sometimes lively) conversation, insight, and my goat virginity was ended as I had the most fantastic egusi, and now goat is nummyness!! Before that I had this very spicy meat appetizer dish, but then comes the goat with jallof rice and fried plaintains (the yum!), tried a little of dmcindc's dish consisting of pureed casava, and for dessert we were disappointed they were out of this African pie consisting of strawberry mousse and tropical fruit puree and had to settle for chocolate truffle pie, which was amazing..
Again, thank you all for ending well what was a very strange day..
SATURDAY:
I got up fairly late after coming home to find the kitchen ceiling light crashed to the floor in a million pieces (yep I was blamed for that too later even though I wasn't home when it happened).. the shower curtain was also torn down and thrown to the downstairs living room floor.. I put it back up into the bathroom only to overhear my roommates yelling and screaming that I did that hours later.. if I didn't feel so threatened this would be a very hilarious dark comedy..
I tragically missed myruiner's recital because I was too busy planning for Those Who Munch: Ironic Twist and Tour of Europe events for May, designing flyers, and discovering potential cool new friends.. oh and reinstalling a shower curtain, cleaning the bathroom - again, and getting ready to leave early for events..
I left in the early evening to go print flyers, grab some din din and then head to spellbound_dc.. please if you feel inclined to pray, pray for dcmidnight in light of the tragic events around its area days earlier..
I had a great great time at spellbound_dc!!! After what I went through, it was more than needed. I really appreciate what shadow27 and pmhrh, dj_transept and loss_of_signal are doing.. I hung for quite a while talking to Marti and pragma_x when pmhrh takes me aside for a very big surprise: a chance for me to be interviewed for a documentary on the Goth scene! What an honor! I really REALLY hope I represented well, even if I weren't more gawthily dressed (*sigh* sorry but I felt it more appropriate to honor 666daemon666).. I also saw groaninggirl and violinpadraic, oldsmobile_mike, xspookykittyx, pragmas_wife, Patrick, Johan, Rich and Patricia, dj_swank who mixed a really nice set that night, 2501 informing us more about Goth Prom, coffinwolf, Misha, darkgypsy13, Zee and his cool roommate Daniel, Andy, Eric, rmerciless, Joseph Blackfeather, and a big Hej Då to 666daemon666 as he leaves for Stockholm (grrr that should be me), but the irony was (or was it intentional?) that the movie for that night was a Swedish silent film Häxan, very strange indeed!
SUNDAY: I will only say that Chris, dmcindc, fortyhumans, Doug, Mama Lisa, a bunch of South African Christian Goths, and rivingmass saved this day from oblivion. And I am back on active at Roommates.com. Oh and my Java image cropping application works just fine so don't need buy-it solutions for image cropping!
So thanks for all who came out or tired to come out to Those Who Munch, for the awesome sendoff to 666daemon666 at spellbound_dc, for the positive responses to Tour of Europe and Those Who Munch: Ironic Twist after Freak Day at the Zoo, and more more more.. now to find a truer home..
