I'm going to get this out of the way: If you are receiving lots of emails from people telling you how beautiful, attractive and/or interesting you are, please accept it as a good thing and move on instead of being a total b*tch about it and complaining, because some of us don't have your good fortune. So get over yourself, thank you and have a nice day.
Oh, and if you decide it's cute not to answer a question I have on a major theological matter, take your cuteness and shove it up your a-hole!!!!
Now shall we talk about the really awesome weekend? Oh wait, that's my job, tee hee
THURSDAY:
Eric has been here now for a day or so and experienced all the coolness of DC that I could provide. Wed night we had Vietnamese, and tonight it was Malaysian at Malaysia Kopitiam, around the corner from
chronosdc, or Arcadia, or whatever it is.. The food was fantastic, the glasses were dirty, the service was terrible, the servers barely spoke English.. but I'm not ever going back there..
Needless to mention that
chronosdc was a total blast!
righasidhe was there to provide Eric with that great Swedish-Norwegian communication connection.. Ebony was there too, Warren,
anizee and
wink_ihsan,
groaninggirl and
violinpadraic,
dj_spawn and
xspookykittyx (could someone please explain the "divorced" comment?), Sean, Jeff,
dj_dirty_b,
getawaydriver,
slyx, and so many others that made the moment a fun one! Even that deceptively sweet drink of Eric's consisting of Absolut Mandarin (figures it would be Swedish)..
FRIDAY:
Work was nice and early, and for once, an application passed without any major hiccups, well except for the other one that wasn't my fault, this time.. wheeeee...
Eric and I went this time for Thai, to complete our Asian food rounds, so we went to this Thai place in Clarendon whose name I cannot remember.. afterwards we were going to go bowling (
darkgypsy13, are you listening?), however, my car broke down in the rainstorm, and I had to get my car towed home. It's pretty much shot. The starter is out, the pistons might be shorted out and there's a hole in the engine. Eric gets a cab back to the hostel and I'm left at home to wonder what to do now.
Singha: One of the most wonderful beers God ever allowed to exist!!!
SATURDAY:
I get up a bit later, call a cab (where are those Burke friends with cars when I need them?) and head to the Metro to meet Eric at the Zoo. Lots of great pics of freaks with fur.. the ones that don't drink (that we know of), and then I take him to Iwo Jima for those classic DC panoramic shots you see in posters, etc. Someone out there has a camera that will destroy
oldsmobile_mike's,
dreammuse's and well, anyone else in the USA for that matter. That is what happens when you live in Norway and make their income. But I digress..
Kept passing Zak all over DC but he never saw me..
So off we go, via stop at hostel to drop off the World's Most Expensive Camera (hehe), and then to
dcmidnight and
spellbound_dc for our Saturday night o' fun. Kitty eventually gives me back my hat (actually, I just snatched it off her head),
scarydavedc and
heleneotroy probably don't know what hit 'em (hehe), Marti, Ken,
dj_dujour,
darkgypsy13,
deadmoonrising, Stewart,
rivingmass, Irene,
dmcindc and
kit257 rounding out the pack.. very nice prizes they were offering this time (congrats to the winners!) and then Eric and I trip off..
..to
spellbound_dc! Where this time we see
shadow27 and
pmhrh,
groaninggirl and
violinpadraic,
cerberus777,
loss_of_signal, Matt and
dj_transept,
verlise, Emily, Black Tony, and some decent music hither and thither..
SUNDAY:
I get up to fix
Välsignalandet due to a problem with a timeout feature on the Guestbook (Gästboken) and Events Calendar (Kalendaren), and then a problem with the Chatroom resulting in an issue with my chat server space provider due to, well, the fact that resetting the password failed and nobody was willing to even address the issue, thus cannot FTP to the site and cannot fix the chatroom, so it's down until the 4th millennium or earlier..
Eric came over from DC to look at my car (what a very cool thing to do while on vacation), and then the two of us cabbed it over to church, to meet up with
cerberus777,
urgote and Sarah,
lilian_winter, Ralph, Brandon, Amanda and friends,
normal_dan and later on joined by
dreammuse at Sliver Diner.. great conversations (mostly in English hehe) and a really cool time to connect on several fronts: Africa, Scandinavia, gas prices, acceptance by the Christian community, dangling from meathooks, etc.
More on New Year's.. after New Year's.. of course! Wait until next year, literally! Meanwhile, remember that Goths, Metalheads and other social rejects are the coolest people you'll ever know and you need to know!
