I officially have a week until my master's thesis is due. Eep!
I've edited the first half, and today's project is editing the second half. Then tomorrow I'll write my 10 page synopsis, then see where I am with page count. If I have to write a little more that'll be Tuesday and some of Wednesday, then editing that on Wednesday. Then a readthrough of everything on Thursday and making last minute changes. I want to actually get this thing out to my professors on Friday morning, so they can have it for an extra weekend.
So yeah, hopefully I'll be done with this thing by Friday. *crosses fingers*
It'll be a huge relief. I've been stressed out by so many things lately, so this'll be one thing that's off my plate. At least for 2 weeks until my thesis defense. But there's not much I can do in that time, so I plan to just read the novels and authors my prof recommended I read so I can actually talk about land and land ownership and the intricate workings of small town politics in reference to other authors like my professor said might come up in my thesis defense. So yeah. That's the plan.
And then after this... freedom! :P I have so many things I want to do when I'm done with this thesis. I want to read The Hunger Games (which I ordered, the first book), and read Game of Thrones, and watch Game of Thrones, and catch up on Supernatural, and finish True Blood season 1, and read some fic, etc etc. There's probs lots in there I'm forgetting.
Also, I want to actually go out and do things. It seems like everyone is planning trips or outtings somewhere, and I'm tired of staying at home while everyone else has fun. And it's not like I can turn to my family when everyone else is already doing something or can't do something, because they never want to do anything whenever I ask (and I ask quite a lot). So even if I end up doing things by myself, I'm gonna do them.
And it's not even like they have to be expensive trips/activities. Yes, I'd like to go into NY and see a play or a concert or something, but I've been wanting to drive over to Peddlar's Village in PA and just walk around the stores and enjoy the easy-going atmosphere. I don't even have to buy anything. Or go for a picnic when the weather gets nice and just eat whatever I can carry from my fridge. Or go hiking. Or go to the beach for a day trip when the weather gets nice. Or take a ride out to rural NJ to see the farms (which I need to do at some point for my novel anyway). And I want to go to the greenhouse and buy a cheap cactus or an African violet.
So yeah, so many things I want to do. And I'll finally have time to do them when this thesis is over. Finding someone to come with me might be a little difficult, but whatever. I'll ask people, and if they don't want to come then I'll just do things by myself. I'm tired of waiting around and sitting at home and doing nothing.
So yes, lots of plans. :)
