Living things in our flat (non-human)
I saw a rat in our kitchen on Thursday night. Big bleedin bugger he was an' all! Seems to be coming up the drainpipe and out behind the sink somewhere - either that or he is coming in from the hollow behind the plug socket under there. Either way it is a nuisance and needs sorted out but it explains how a tomato seemed to randomly fall from the vegetable shelf when I was in the kitchen earlier in the week. Matt has offered to shoot it with an air gun. Another possibility is to borrow a friendly cat and let it piss somewhere all over the flat.
Also, on Wednesday I dropped something behind my bedside locker, and when I went to get it I saw a massive spider down there. Not truly scary sized, but big for a British domestic spider. That means it lives about 2 feet from my head every night. Still, I don't mind spiders really, once I get over their aesthetic freakishness. They're harmless.
