I've been making this one for even longer than the Laura mix and there's 18 songs on it. I really love it. A lot of old 60s-70s songs on it, one from the 40s. I'm going to tell you what I think of each song and what makes me link it to the character this time though. So have at it.
Thank You for Being a Friend by Andrew Gold
This one has to be when Laura first started being President. They kind of didn't see eye to eye at first, but then they became very good friends.
You Can't Hurry Love by The Supremes
We were waiting and waiting for them to even look at eachother with a loving eye and we got that, but it couldn't be rushed. Shouldn't be rushed. Just have to wait and let it happen naturally.
I Think We're Alone Now by Tommy James and The Shondells
This is obviously when they were high on New Caprica. Them getting high and cuddling under the stars. They were completely alone even though they didn't really care who saw them be that close. It didn't matter anymore.
Happy Together by The Turtles
"Imagine me and you, I do. I think about you day and night. It's only right, to think about the girl you love and hold her tight. So happy together." In that moment while they were cuddling (especially during the Extended Cut of Unfinished Business), they realized this is the moment they want to remember for the rest of their lives. That it was when nothing mattered, just that they were together.
Groovy Kind of Love by The Mindbenders
"When I'm feeling blue, all I have to do is take a look at you. Then I'm not so blue." During the fight scene (in Unfinished Business), Bill seemed kind of indifferent until Laura walked up to him, then he gave this big ole grin. I loved that. Showed a whole different side to them almost.
Stand By Me by Ben E. King
They rely on eachother to carry eachother on now. It's gotten to that point. Whenever one has a problem, has some trouble, the other takes care of them and defends them and protects them.
You Were On My Mind by We Five
This pretty much tells of Bill in Sine Qua Non or you can think of this as Laura while she was alone on New Caprica and the cylons found them and invaded. Could go both ways.
The Air That I Breathe by The Hollies
This goes to both characters as well. All they need is eachother and the air that they breathe. The rest of the song tells more about their thoughts on eachother. Mostly goes to Bill though. You'll get it when you hear it.
Back In My Arms Again by The Supremes
Another Supreme song. :) Not that it isn't a bad thing. When Bill went to Laura (in the episode The Hub) they were so happy to be back in eachother's arms. This is mostly Laura's song.
Lover Come Back to Me by Mildred Bailey and her Orchestra
When the Cylons invaded New Caprica from Laura's POV.
Zing! Went the Strings of My Heart by Rufus Wainwright
When Laura realized her feelings for Bill. When Elosha told her to love. That was the point where she was finally able to open herself up to it.
One True Friend by Bette Midler
When you hear it, you'll go...OMG YES. Srsly. It's one of the few songs that are clearly theirs.
We Belong by Pat Benetar
Um...Duh. This goes to when Laura left with her little pack to go to Kobol and Bill went and found her. They belonged together there and always. He realized he was wrong and had to go to her.
If by Bread
Another one of their songs. This is Bill to Laura mostly. Obviously.
You'll Never Walk Alone by Gerry And The Pacemakers
Bill to Laura again during her treatments. He'll stand by her no matter what happens.
Hold Me Tight by Johnny Nash
New Caprica Bill. He's just letting go and holding her tight and loving her in that moment. That's what it's all about.
Fight This World by Brendan O'Donnell
When they arrived on Earth pretty much. Their unsure of it and what to do with eachother. Even though they admitted to one another that they love eachother, this was what made Bill love her. Her passion for Earth. It really helped at least.
Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered by Rod Stewart and Cher
This was going to be the title of this CD. Every time I listen to this song, I think how much that's the two of them. It really is. This is my #1 Roslin|Adama song, by far. If Mary and EJO were to sing this in the season 4 CD, I would totally not object. At all.
