Lyrically speaking...

Here's a thought, if you're willing to listen
I only tell the truth of the feelings I'm given
Can you hear me now? Listen
Whispers in the rain, Listen
Don't push love away, you know you do

It's all we have
It's a chore holding onto a vision
Don't leave her high and dry
She's the one you'll be missing.
Can you hear me now? Listen
Whispers in the rain, while you're awake
Don't push love away, you know you do
It's all we have

I hate to think hesitation is a burden
A bittersweet design for a lesson you're learning

She's crying

Can you feel me now this time?
Whispers in the rain, lying awake
Don't push love away, you know you do
It's all we have

Here's a thought, if you're willing to listen.

Sorrow is a lonely feeling
Unsettled is a painful place
I’ve lived with both for far too long now
Since we’ve parted ways
I’ve been wrestling with my conscience
And I found myself to blame
If there’s to be any resolution
I’ve got to peel my pride away

Just between you and me
I’ve got something’ to say
Wanna get it straight
Before the sun goes down
Just between you and me
Confession needs to be made
Recompense is my way to freedom now
Just between you and me
I’ve got something to say

Cause I’ve seen the shadows of so many people
Trying on the treasures of youth
But a road that fancy and fast
Ends in a fatal crash
And I’m glad we got off
To tell you the truth
Cause we’re okay, We’re fine
Baby I’m here to stop your crying
Chase all the ghosts from your head
I’m stronger than the monster beneath your bed
Smarter than the tricks played on your heart
We’ll look at them together then we’ll take them apart
Adding up the total of a love that’s true
Multiply life by the power of two

Well, it took the hand of God Almighty
To part the waters of the sea
But it only took one little lie
To separate you and me
Oh, we are not as strong as we think we are

And they say that one day Joshua
Made the sun stand still in the sky
But I can't even keep these thoughts of you from passing by
Oh, we are not as strong as we think we are

We are frail, we are fearfully and wonderfully made
Forged in the fires of human passion
Choking on the fumes of selfish rage
And with these our hells and our heavens
So few inches apart
We must be awfully small
And not as strong as we think we are

And the Master said their faith was
Gonna make them mountains move
But me, I tremble like a hill on a fault line
Just at the thought of how I lost you
Oh, we are not as strong as we think we are

We are frail, we are fearfully and wonderfully made
Forged in the fires of human passion
Choking on the fumes of selfish rage
And with these our hells and our heavens
So few inches apart
We must be awfully small
And not as strong as we think we are

And if you make me laugh
I know I could make you like me
'Cause when I laugh I can be a lot of fun
But we can't do that I know that it is frightening
What I don't know is why we can't hold on
We can't hold on.

It took the hand of God Almighty
To part the waters of the sea
But it only took one little lie
To separate you and me
Oh, we are not as strong as we think we are

When you love you walk on the water
Just don't stumble on the waves
We all want to go there somethin' awful
But to stand there it takes some grace
'Cause oh, we are not as strong
As we think we are

No, we are not as strong
As we think we are

Walk on the water
Walk on the water
If we could just hold on
Just hold on

Take me back to the time
When I was maybe eight or nine
And I believed
when jesus walked on waters blue
and If he helped me I could to
If I believed

Before rational analysis and systematic thinking
Robbed me of a sweet simplicity
When wonders and when mysterys
Were far less often silly dreams
and Childhood fantasys

Help me believe
'cause I don't want to miss any miracles
Maybe i'd see
Much better by closing my eyes
and I would shed this grown up skin I'm in
To touch an Angels wing
And I would be free
Help me believe

When mustard seeds made mountians move
A burning bush that spoke for you
was good enough
when manna fell from heavens high
Just because you told the sky to open up

Am I to wise to recognize that everythin uncertain
is certainly a possibility
When logic fails my reasoning
and science crushes underneath
The weight of all that is unseen

When someone else's education
plays upon my reservation
I'm the first to cave
I'm the first to bleed
If I abondoned all that seeks
To make my faith informed and chic
Could you?
would you?
show your self to me?

Bright are the stars that shine
In somebody else's sky
Green is the grass that grows
some place different
more possibilities
more than you offered me
More than I care to see
from a distance

I was certain that the Truth would be
in a place that kept eluding me
but every stone turned and unturned again
would only serve to prove
that I never had to move to find you

And you will always be
The only love I'll ever know, home
You you have made for me
the only place i'll ever go, home

God for the shameless pride
The times when I rolled my eyes
To laugh at simplicity
show me mercy

Knowing what I now now
Its hard to imagine how
I could feel anything
but unworthy

And The Mystery of your love for me
Is not as hidden as it seemed to be
Should have known then when you said to me
"seek and you will find"
It was right there all the time

I believe in the quest and the journey
I believe that the answers come in time
And where we begin is where we are arrive
- Nichole Nordeman, "Home"

Life is bigger
It’s bigger than you
And you are not me
The lengths that I will go to
The distance in your eyes
Oh no, I’ve said too much
I set it up

That’s me in the corner
That’s me in the spotlight
Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I don’t know if I can do it
Oh no, I’ve said too much
I haven’t said enough
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try

Every whisper
Of every waking hour i’m
Choosing my confessions
Trying to keep an eye on you
Like a hurt lost and blinded fool, fool
Oh no, I’ve said too much
I set it up
Consider this
Consider this
The hint of the century
Consider this
The slip that brought me
To my knees failed
What if all these fantasies
Come flailing around
Now I’ve said too much
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try

But that was just a dream
That was just a dream

But that was just a dream
Try, cry, why try?
That was just a dream
Just a dream, just a dream
Dream

It's another detachment
Same arrangement, different placement
I'm the saddest of moments
All alone in my unspoken
I was dying to feel you
To be in you, and to heal you
I was grieving the distance
Realizing my insistence

And I see the only real I know I feel I have it all

You are the world, you are the world
You're the only world

When the gods and goddesses
you created with your own two hands
Come down off their pedastols
and dress as mortal man
When the hands that held you up
Clamp down around your neck
When your reason for believing
has all but turned his back
When the one you call your Superman
turns out to be Clark Kent
When you've been put through hell
by your precious heaven-sent
What then do you do?
What then do you do?
