Look at me, being all cool and shit
Don't you hate it when you have the itch to write something, but you don't know what to write about or where to begin?
Here's it! I want to write something great and life-changing. I want to write something that someone will read and be like "hot damn! I wanna change the world!"
I need to take a bite out of humble pie. I mean, perhaps I'm just being too ambitious and it's that ambition that's making me not able to write something great. I can't write something awesome because I WANT to write something awesome. Usually, when I am writing, I am unaware of how great it is until it's finished ... if even.
Or ever.
I'm just one person---albeit, I am an awesome person (no doubt about that), but there is only one of me. Also, I am certain that somewhere out there is another person with the same ideas as myself. I know I'm not the only guy who's thought my thoughts and I'm not the only person who's thought my thoughts and been labeled as brilliant or genius.
I'm not the only person who's had a weblog or online journal and made his ideas known in the form of electronic literature. Even pointless wanderings are read by the unsuspsecting/bored/obsessive drones that frequent my webpage---of which, obviously, I'm not the only person who has one of those webpages either!
I could piece together random sentences that make almost no sense and place them in no particular order and still be considered a literary master. I could take a super-zoomed-in photo of my bedroom carpet and be viewed as brilliant for my artistic vision. Hell, I could write a song composed purely out of old men shitting on toilets and go triple-platinum because I have an unconditional ear for music.
Yes. I'm just that awesome.
I can tell you right at this very movment that this blog entry sucks---seriously! I'm writing it and I'm telling you that it's total crap---but there's somebody out there, I promise you, who will claim this is the greatest piece of shit they've read in months.
I'm like the Kilgore Trout of LJ!
I guess my bottom line is that I'm just a person. That's it. I'm just Seth, just me, and I can't change the world with a blog.
But damn, they sure are fun to write!
Speaking of which, Melissa gave me an awesome idea! To get my creative juices flowing, I require a bit of help. I am opening the floor to you guys, my most awesome readers and friends. I want you to give me something to write about. Anything. Doesn't even have to be specific, or you could give me as many specifics as you want! Just comment on this blog with something you want me to write about and I'll do it.
