Private Time [For Ray]

Oct 15, 2006 22:24

The hours before bed were Fraser's favorite time of night. It was his time to spend with the people he loved, and to reflect on the day's events. It was also the time when he and Ray and Horatio would tell each other whatever was on their minds--things they had seen, conversations they had had, things they missed. It was the most intimate time they shared (outside of physical intimacy, of course), and Fraser had come to cherish it as a natural part of his routine.

At the moment, however, Fraser was alone. They'd started taking turns reading to Scout and Christopher Robin before bed, and it was Horatio's turn at the current moment. The children's shelters were a good distance from their own, although well within Fraser's hearing range, and he could hear Horatio reading from the text rather enthusiastically as he wrote his nightly journal entry. Ray was...well, Fraser wasn't sure where he was, exactly, but he hoped he would come home soon.

As if summoned by Fraser's thoughts, Ray entered the wikiup at just that moment. He looked up when Ray entered the room and smiled. "And where have you been?" he asked curiously.
